The Peliti Seed Festival is the first public traditional seed exchange festival held in the country in 1999 and continues to this day.
In 2013, the Peliti Seed Festival was described by the Australian seed savers www.seedsavers.net as “Largest Seed Exchange in the World.”
The Peliti Seed Festival has so far been attended by farmers, seed and food activists, scientists, etc. from many countries around the world such as: Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Morocco, USA, Canada, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Australia, India, etc. Every year, important figures from the global movement for the freedom of seeds, land and water arrive.

A picture from the future to today.
The Peliti Seed Festival is a picture of the future that we are planting today. At the Peliti Seed Festival, everything is an offering: the seeds, the speeches, the food, the organization, the music, etc. Everyone has access to all the activities regardless of their financial situation. We can and do all of this because each one offers what they can, so through this offering we all have.
Creating with nature.
In Peliti we were able and accomplished some things because we listened to the call of the river, the seeds, and the forest. We said present when the seeds called us for help. When we asked the seeds for help, the seeds answered present.
The distribution of traditional seeds at the 26th Peliti Seed Festival.

The distribution of traditional seeds will take place from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. The main entrance of Peliti will open at 9:30 a.m. The celebration is open to anyone interested, regardless of whether they have seeds or not. The cultivation of traditional varieties and their free offering is a deeply political act. By the term “politics” we mean the solution we choose to solve the agricultural, environmental, economic and social problems of our country and beyond. The Peliti Seed Festival is a picture of the future. Each person offers what they have to the community and everyone has through this offering what they need. This is how we envision our future. Everyone should offer to the community and we should all be able to have free access to all goods. Thus, the celebration can and is organized through the voluntary offering of work, food, materials, seeds, plants, music, etc. All of these are offered freely at the Peliti Seed Festival.
The Peliti Seed Festival follows Easter, taking place on the Saturday after Easter. For 2026, the Peliti Seed Festival is Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The seeds are distributed with coupons that are distributed free of charge at the entrance, each coupon corresponds to a sachet of seeds. Each visitor receives 4 coupons, i.e. 4 sachets of seeds. The distribution of traditional seeds lasts from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Forest of Wishes
Coming to the 26th Peliti Seed Festival, you can search for The Forest of Wishes in the land of Peliti. In the forest of wishes, young and old can go. In the Forest of Wishes we enter with silence and respect. Here is the tree of wishes. When you get close to it, you will recognize it by the beat of your heart. Sit calmly at the tree of wishes and ask it for whatever you want. You just have to be careful what you ask for. Because the tree has the power to help you fulfill your desire but it has no judgment of what is good and what is bad. In the forest of wishes, fairies also live who help the plants grow. If you are lucky, you may meet them. Your guide to finding the forest of wishes is your heart.
